Summary: This is a fundraising
position, responsible for generating funding to support the work of the
national office though a variety of channels and strategies, including, but not
limited to mail, online and face-to-face visits. This position leads efforts
towards building a major gifts pipeline while renewing and upgrading annual
donors. Works with staff and leadership to identify research, cultivate and
solicit annual fund level gifts.
Duties
and Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for soliciting, stewarding and cultivating all
national donors including small businesses, foundations and individuals and provides
leads to the Major Gifts and corporate development teams
Oversees
the annual recognition society, including implementation of a chapter pilot
program; Includes overall strategy for solicitation, cultivation and
stewardship of annual donors
Manages
all aspects of Grants program to identify national prospects, determine an
appropriate strategy and possible connections.
Facilitates
the national Adopt-A-Wish program and employs a donor-focused fund raising
approach that respects Chapter territories and maintains a high degree of
sensitivity to the desires of individual donors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or higher in business or related field
from four-year college or university; two to five years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with the Raiser’s Edge donor database tracking
software
Demonstrated success in soliciting gifts
Ability to forge strong working relationships with others
engendering confidence and trust
Ability to identify issues and assess alternative courses of
action
Ability to delegate responsibilities to subordinates effectively
Knowledge of budgeting and goal setting process
Superb written communication and phone skills
Ability to travel for job-related duties
